Review | Kate Moss Matte Lipstick

Happy Monday! (It is for me, I don't have uni until 4!) How are you all?
I hope you're enjoying my Kukee giveaway! If you haven't already entered do so here!

I also have some exciting news to share with you! I have landed myself a one month internship over Christmas at ASOS! Eeeee! I've already been stressing about what to wear every day and have informed my sister that I'll be rummaging through her wardrobe too. I start on the 10th December so wish me luck!

So today I have a quick review for you! I heard a lot about Kate Moss's matte collection on various blogs and really wanted to try it but it was sold out in Boots and Superdrug for ages! I finally got my hands on this one, shade 111 Kiss of life. It's a lovely vivid red colour and I love it.

I have never actually owned a red lipstick before, I wear pinks and nudes a lot (along with the occasional orange!) so this is a bit of a bold one for me!

It's a really good formula and I was worried, because it's matte, that it would be drying, but it isn't at all. And if you don't want it to look too matte you can always put a lip gloss over the top to add some shine!

I also think £5.49 is a fab price for such a high quality lipstick! They offer a lovely selection of colours, I really like the candy pink one too, but have to say I didn't like the look of the nude shade.

You can find them anywhere that sells Rimmel or order online here!

Has anyone else tried any other shades?
What did you think?

Thanks for reading!

Review | Bobbi Brown Concealer kit

Hellooo all, how are you?
I have another review for you today you lucky devils! I bought this a while back and put it in a haul post (here) and to do a review on it has been on the top of my 'To Do Today' list for ages, unfortunately other things have come first (uni work, applying for grad jobs eek!) but now I'm home for the weekend with a moment to spare so I shall finally cross it off the list!

I've been having a look to see if I could find a link to this but literally can't find one anywhere! I don't know if this means it isn't being sold by Bobbi Brown any more but I bought mine at the Cosmetics Company.
I have been using it loads and really want to love it but I have mixed feelings...

Good:
  • It's quite thick and does a really good job brightening up my eyes and getting rid of dark circles.
  • The powder is also really nice and light, and can be used to set the concealer or just set your foundation.
  • It's a perfect yellowy pink colour for covering darkness under the eyes but also works on any redness on my face I want to conceal too.

Bad:
  • It's very drying.
  • It doesn't last all day.
  • The packaging is ridiculous, I didn't photograph the powder section underneath because I was too scared to open it! It's such a mess, the powder comes out and as soon as you open the lid it all falls everywhere!

I think I paid about £13 for it as it was in an outlet, but that's still quite a lot considering I love my Collection lasting perfection just as much, and that actually lasts longer! So I don't think I'll repurchase this but I'll keep using it until it's empty as I do like it and the coverage it gives!

That is all, I would recommend this product if you don't have dry skin and don't mind topping it up throughout the day but if not, I'm sure you could find a better alternative for less money.

Thanks for reading!

Have you tried this? What did you think?
What's you favourite concealer for under eye circles?

Review | S Factor Heat Defence

Helloo!

I've been meaning to post about this product for a while as it's something I have been using for ages! When I first lightened my hair it was really badly damaged, and so I was trying lots of different heat defence sprays to try and prevent further damage!
I tried lots of cheaper brands, wasting loads of money on products that weren't effective and actually were making it even worse.

Then my hairdresser recommended that I try to find one without Alcohol in it, because alcohol dries out the hair,  meaning when you apply heat you are losing even more moisture.

So I bought this Tigi S factor Heat defence spray which doesn't contain any alcohol for the slightly steeper price of £13.50 and I'm so glad I did!

It works so well, meaning despite using heat on my hair pretty much every day, my hair is still soft and I have hardly any split ends! (I obviously get it cut regularly as well which also helps!) You only need the tiniest bit and it lasts so long, I actually ended up spending less money because one bottle lasted me around 6 months!

It smells amazing, kind of sweet and light and the fact that it's a shine spray is also good for blonde hair which is naturally less shiny than darker hair.

Tigi say:

'This high tech thermal protectant provides a soft shine with a healthy finish while styling with a flat iron and also protects from daily UV rays. Vitamins A&E nourish the hair while acting as antioxidants to protect the hair from environmental damage.

- Heat protective
- UV protective
- Nourishes hair
- Adds shine
- Use on wet and dry hair.'

I say:

It does exactly that for me and I doubt I'll ever use any other kind of heat defence spray now I have discovered this!

So that is all! I love this, if you're having the same problem with cheaper heat defence sprays, either have a look for an alcohol-free one or just go for this, I've actually saved myself money as it lasts such a long time!

This is perfect if you have a friend obsessed with their nails! It has 25 amazing ideas and step by step instructions of how to achieve amazing nails.

October Faves

I should be using this time to write my essay on the representation of homosexuality in British TV drama but instead I'm going to postpone that to give you all my October favourites! Oops naughty...
I LOVE autumn and everything that comes with it, although I feel I am getting excited for Christmas way too early this year :/ Me and my friends (including Sophie!) snuck upstairs at a Halloween party last week to listen (and drunkenly sing along) to Christmas songs!
I actually can't wait!
Anyway back to October, here are a few things I was loving over the month...

I bought this a while back and you can see here, and I have been wearing this so much this month, it goes with everything, it's so soft, and I love the colour and the marled look.

 Liz Earle bronzer

I got this as a freebie when I subscribed to Look magazine along with a lip gloss and the cleanse and polish, which was amazing! It's such a nice colour and it's such a good quality product. I've been wearing it every single day and I love it!

 Michael Kors Rose Gold Watch

My boyfriend bought this for me in September when he came into a bit of money because he knew that I wanted it for ages and ages and he's lovely! I cannot even explain how much I love it, I wear it every day even if I'm not doing anything. It goes so well with my pyjamas!

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel

As you all know this is a limited edition so as soon as it was released again I snapped it up! It's such a lovely smell, if you haven't already go and sniff it, I've already used this whole bottle :( so I'll have to pick up another one asap!

 Burts Bees Miracle salve

It's getting so cold now and I always have the same old problem every year, cold chapped sore old lady hands. So I've been keeping this in my bag to put on whenever they start to get dry and it really works to keep them soft.

Bit of a different one to finish off! I recently started using my ipod again and I've rediscovered my love for it! I used to listen to music on my iphone but it drains the battery, and to have my whole music libary on there really takes up space. So I whipped this out, charged it up, updated the songs and I love it.

Fave blogger: Spider leg lashes

I've recently discovered her blog and love it, she does such good beauty reviews and also has really nice taste in fashion! Her blog is great so go take a look :)

Other faves:
series 1 of Revenge!

Thanks for reading!

What have you been loving this month?

Movember!

No I haven't gone mad and decided I should try and grow a moustache despite my distinct lack of male hormones, my boyfriend has!

Hahaha! Chuckle over...

My lovely boyf Craig is taking part in Movember this year! If you haven't heard about it, I shall explain. Basically, he's not going to shave for the whole month of November to try and raise money for Men's cancer. The Movember charity donate the money to Prostate cancer UK, The Institute of Cancer Research and towards awareness and educational schemes across the UK.

So as the lovely girlfriend I am, I'm sharing his fundraising page on every social media platform known to man! Please take a look and we'd both be so grateful if anyone donated, or even just shared the page!
